Lanham and Company Personal Development ProgrammeLanham and Company encourage and assist all staff to develop skills, experience and formal qualifications during their employment with the practice. In return we expect staff to make a commitment to their own personal development. Staff InductionDuring the first day of employment all staff receive an induction with one of the directors, which includes an introduction to our policies and procedures, colleagues and our clients. Training for professional qualificationsWe are an ACCA approved training practice having gained a silver rating at our last review. We are able to provide training and work experience leading to qualifications with the ACCA, CAT and AAT. We offer through our training contracts:
Other trainingThe continued development of non accounting staff is also important to us. This has included training towards qualification as a Chartered Company Secretary and a diploma in sales and marketing. On the job trainingWe act for a varied range of clients and are therefore able to provide on the job experience that will cover all the requirements needed to gain professional qualifications. We do not have separate “departments” such as taxation which has been traditional in other firms. This enables and encourages staff to gain practical experience and development in all areas of general practice. Continuing Professional DevelopmentThe majority of our CPD is provided through external training courses provided by CCH and the use of its on-line CPD programme. Training needs are assessed annually with staff and the relevant CPD arranged to ensure professional obligations and personal interests are met. Internal training at group level and one-to-one is also provided. AppraisalAll staff receive an annual appraisal with a director. There are bi annual appraisals for staff employed under a training contract. |
